Eric: have you gotten into [RSS] feeds or Bloglines yet?

Jason: Not really. Too much other crap going on.

Eric: Well, Bloglines now offers Package Tracking feeds (for your packages) via UPS, FedEx & USPS.

Jason: oh, sweeeeet!

Eric: Do you use Trillian (the all-in-one IM)?

Jason: nope

Eric: well, I downloaded the newer version (3.1) after using v2 for 2+ years and the new one is really sweet. For certain words that exist in the IMs, it underlines those words and will pop-up a balloon from Wikipedia with the definition of that word.

Jason: Oh, that’s a nice feature. Does it allow you to put in custom status messages?

Eric: Yes. It defaults to set it for all your IM mediums (MSN, Yahoo ICQ, AIM…).

Jason: Funny, it automatically responded w/ your status message as an IM.

Eric: but you can customize it for each one seperately.

Jason: Very nice. Where do I sign up?

Jason: Cool. I’ll check that out in a bit.

Eric: It didn’t look like the pro was different all that much different from the basic. I’ve got a crack for the pro if you want. I didn’t realize at first that when you download the trial, it’s basic & pro all in one.

Jason: So… what does the pro buy you? (Oh, and congrats for actually purchasing software. )

Eric: http://trillian.cc/learn/ Didn’t look like the differences where all that… before, the pro version had better skins/themes and such. Don’t know if that’s still the case. There’s extensions and plugins for it as well, but I haven’t used anything extra yet.

Jason: Cool. Will definitely have to check this out. Looks a LOT better than it used to.

Eric: I also like Trillian, because it keeps logs on ALL your mediums… whereas MSN does not have log tracking by itself.

Jason: MSN does, but you have to activate it… and it is in XML which is nice b/c you can read it from a browser. Yahoo encrypts its logs.

Jason: Oh, wow… It keeps a history log in timline/summary/bookmarks views AND lets you search history.

Eric: holy cow… it has activity history now…. this is awesome.

Jason: Dude, I’m sold.

Eric: HAHAHAHA. I just found that by clicking on it for this chat window. Shows a calendar and graphs how much I’ve talked to you.

Jason: Man, that ROCKS!

Eric: Wow, this is nice.

Jason: The Serverless IM is a pretty nice feature.
