Hello to all!! A couple of you have asked either Eric or I about my new job. Well everyone is right, teachers are under paid!!!! My class is about 23 kids. Apparently the teachers from last year did not do a good job about separating the English speakers from the Spanish speakers so now I must break the news to my class that some of them won’t be my students.

I was asked to teach only in Spanish to the Spanish speakers so the good news is that my class will be 19 for most of the day and 26(!!!) for math and composition. I am going to spend next week shopping for the right shoes. My feet are killing me. My cute high heel sandals won’t be used during the week anymore. Other than that I am so excited to be teaching… I go home tired for all the right reasons.

If any of you can help me with any materials or activities I would appreciate it, especially the activities. PISD is big on hands-on activities. These are the subjects I will be teaching:

• Math
• Composition
• Science
• Social Studies

If you have books that you have been meaning to get rid of let me know. My reading area is so empty
