Hey, it runs in the family

17 Jul

My nephews are extremely talented. One for sports and one for the arts. I’d do just about anything for my family, so when my nephew Sean asked me for a website, how could I resist. This has been one of the funner projects I’ve worked on in a while. Not so much for the content, subject or design, but rather for the quality time I haven’t gotten to spend with him (since they live in Dallas) and mostly for the pure enthusiasm, excitement and enjoyment he seems to have for his new site. I haven’t seen anyone pick up on something so quick (as he does with most everything).

Some of you might remember him as the little man that sang during the ceremony at our wedding (the old man who sang was one of my OLDer brothers, Richard… haha!!).

Everyone remarked then at the talent he has for music. That was just part of it. With the launching of his website, you can now see the visual and written talents he holds.

It’s a nice tract of land with lots of room to run, play and shoot off some fireworks. They have been kind enough to have it there every year. We used to go to Uncle George’s cabin in New Waverly like clock work.

The Haak Winery

2 Jul

Most don’t know this, but Texas is the 2nd largest producer of wines in the US. I’d give you more facts, but I’m partially making this up as I go along. So anyway, the story goes like this. Elizabeth has been wanting to the Haak Winery in Santa Fe (Texas) for a while now. She monitored the events there for a couple of weeks and decided on going to one of their harvestings. So, the date was set and invites were passed out (verbal, not written).
