Floating the Guadalupe
31 May
We got to float the Guadalupe River for the second time on Memorial weekend. I would have to say this trip was a lot more tame. No popped tubes, no concussions, no hangovers. Despite missing those essentials, we still had a great time.
This year we were able to score a fantastic deal at the Hotel Valencia in San Antonio. It was a little out of the way from New Braunfels, but it was worth it. Everyone was really impressed with the quality of the rooms, especially the pillows.
After freshening up from the 5 hour float on the river, we were absolutely starving, so we headed to the Riverwalk to try and find something all of us could agree on.
The next day, we strolled a few blocks down to the Market Square to fill our bellies with more Mexican food & margaritas. It was incredibly hot out there, so after lunch we stopped in a saloon to cool down with some cold ones and listen to a little local music. After melting in the Square for a couple of hours, some of us had to get back to Houston which brought our Memorial Day to a close.
